The Switch 20.4.0 system update was released on September 2, 2025 (UTC). This Switch update was released for the following regions: ALL.

Security flaws fixed: <fill this in manually later, see the updatedetails page from the ninupdates-report page(s) once available for now>.

Official ALL change-log:

The following titles were updated:
- Sysmodules: hid.
- SystemData (non-sysver): BrowserDll, Help, ClientCertData.
- Applets: LibAppletWeb, LibAppletShop, LibAppletOff, LibAppletLns, LibAppletAuth.

RomFs changes:

BrowserDll: "/buildinfo/buildinfo.dat" updated, "/nro/netfront/core_3/default/cfi_enabled/oss_wkc.nro.lz4" updated, "/nro/netfront/core_3/default/cfi_enabled/webkit_wkc.nro.lz4" updated
Help: "/legallines.htdocs/index.html" updated
- For the libxml2 license, the following was added: " Copyright (C) The Libxml2 Contributors."
SystemVersion: All files updated.
LibAppletOff/LibAppletWeb/LibAppletShop/LibAppletLns/LibAppletAuth: All files updated.

Updated L_2b8e8, prev ver @ L_2b8e8.
- IPC handler func for hid:sys RegisterAppletResourceUserId, added a new cmd input param.
Updated L_52d70, prev ver @ L_52d70.
- Now writes u8 inw3 into state.
Updated L_530c8, prev ver @ L_530b8.
- Now clears an additional field.
Updated L_537f8, prev ver @ L_537d8.
- This is eventually called from hid CreateAppletResource.
- Now calls L_52d70 with an additional param, w3=0.
Various funcs were updated with minor changes.
Updated L_56cd4, prev ver @ L_56cb4.
- This is the impl func for hid:sys RegisterAppletResourceUserId.
- The additional input param is now passed to L_99354.
Updated L_99354, prev ver @ L_99304.
- The additional input param is now passed to L_52d70.
Updated L_a4ab0, prev ver @ L_a4a50.
L_a6440 from prev ver was removed (this was called by L_a4a50 in prev ver).
