What does "bad" mean in ""Then it checks battery charge and SoC temperature using i2c. If either is bad, it shows one of two different bitmaps from .data in the framebuffer."?

Does it mean that if the SOC temperature is too high, that it will show the overheat message? or does it mean that if the SOC temperature chip is giving garbage data, it will show some kind of boot error, something like the boot 8046 error on the 3ds?
